—ensuring every child receives the care they deserve.
At CHC, participants provide no-cost, outpatient clinical services primarily to children and families. Principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion are integrated across clinical and professional training activities. Externs engage in comprehensive hands-on training, including:
Provide individual and family therapy, parent coaching, and long-term therapeutic services.
Participate in weekly didactic training led by Stanford Children’s, alongside weekly case conferences featuring student case presentations, discussions, and team consultations.
Conduct intakes, case conceptualization, measurement-informed care, collaborative treatment planning, and case management.
Receive weekly one-on-one supervision from CHC psychologists who bring diverse cultural, linguistic, and theoretical perspectives, along with extensive experience in evidence-based interventions.
This structured, immersive training experience equips participants with the skills and confidence to provide high-quality, culturally responsive care to children and families.
